It almost makes you feel good to realise that even though he is a major star, actor Robert Pattinson, he of Twilight fame, says that he often spends evenings alone in hotel rooms...because no one calls him.
In an interview with The Sun to promote his latest movie, Water For Elephants, he admitted: "I was thinking the other day that no one ever rings me up or anything."
It means he ends up ringing around friends to find out if they are available, which is something his legion of female fans will find amazing. Most of them dream of spending time with the Londoner, who has hit the Hollywood big-time, but appears to find fame a little tedious.
His latest movie, which also stars Reese Witherspoon, has had positive reviews, but will his career outlast the phenomena that is the Twilight zone? It isn't that long since he was a total unknown and then fame and Stephenie Meyer, writer of the Twilight Saga, came knocking.
But it is incredible how many famous celebrities echo his words about "being alone". Princess Diana said that she often returned from a big event to spend the weekend on her own at Kensington Palace because everyone assumed she was busy.
This week it was reported that the mummified body of 82-year old actress Yvette Vickers, who starred in the 50s cult movie "Attack of the 50ft. Woman", was found in her Benedict Canyon, Los Angeles home, where it may have lain for months. The B-Movie queen once dated Cary Grant, Lee Marvin and other Hollywood stars, but in recent years she must have felt very much abandoned.
Meanwhile, Mr Pattinson has his relationship with actress Kristen Stewart and his horde of screaming fans, ready and available should he really want company. Enjoy it while you can R-Patz!
